1W Deep Red LED mounted on a 19.8mm x 1.6mm star PCB. This 1W LED uses a 38 Mil EPILED chip producing a powerful deep red 120° colour beam peaking at 660nm.

Designed specifically to aid photosynthetic response in plants and aquatic applications, this powerful LED is a staple of grow lights aiding both the vegetative the flowering stages of a plants life cycle. As such this is also a popular choice for use in algae scrubbers and a planted aquarium applications. Due to the superior build quality and high specification of the EPILED chips, these 1W LEDs retain an excellent level of efficiency producing an impressive 20 lumens of deep red light. 

As with all Power LEDs any LED array will need adequate heat management for optimal performance, efficiency and lifespan. As such this component must be mounted onto an aluminium or copper heat sink with a thermal glue/compound between the rear of the PCB and the surface of the heat sink. Even for 1W models active fan cooling is highly recommended particularly at higher drive currents.
